As you may already know, Instagram and WhatsApp have the same owner, Facebook. It feels like Instagram have been influenced by WhatsApp to create their new feature which now shows you when people you send direct messages to or follow were last active and when they’re typing. If you’re not a fan of this idea, there’s a simple way to turn it off. Head to the settings menu, and scroll down until you see the below option.
Toggle the switch to turn it off – this means you can’t see when people were last active, but also they won’t be able to see when you were last active either!
So helpful! now i can add icons to my Etsy store. i always see tutorials on the rectangle aspect but not the square. you are a life saver!
