Have you noticed when sending a message in your Instagram inbox, there’s a new little icon?
The little speech bubble next to the GIF box (another new feature – reply to messages with a suitable gif!) is the new quick replies feature
We’ve mentioned before about having automated responses for emails and DM’s using the iOS keyboard Ditto but if you’re unable to use custom keyboards or you’re not an iOS user, then this is a great alternative which is already built
To get started, tap the speech bubble with dots in it, and tap the plus icon in the top right of the dialog box.
The shortcut is the word that will help you remember what the message is about. While the screenshot above says the quick reply will appear when you type that shortcut, you’ll need to tap the blue speech bubble that appears next to the send button (it won’t automatically replace it for you)
You can edit the reply before it is sent – when you choose the quick reply from the list, it appears in the text box ready for you to amend (at least in our testing)
This feature is for business accounts, which we explain in this blog post about how to switch to a business Instagram account
What do you think of this feature? Will you be making use of it?
