There’s a simple way to stop this – you just have to change a setting buried deep in the Instagram app
Go to settings, then privacy
In the privacy menu, click messages
Then tap on group settings
Here’s where you can switch the setting – change it from everyone to people you follow.
That should get rid of the spam, unless of course you follow a lot of spam accounts!
