Hello!
Five years ago, Bonjour, Blogger! was started. It’s been difficult to keep up sometimes because of things happening in the real world and just generally being discouraged and unmotivated (hey, it happens to everyone!) but I still love posting here, getting great feedback from you all and sharing opportunities (especially on Twitter) that you guys can benefit from!
I thought I’d just explain a little more about what’s been going on because I know not everyone knows my personal life (I’m pretty terrible at posting on my personal blog as well!). In the last year or so, I’ve gotten married, got a visa, quit my job, learnt to drive, moved to just outside Seattle (for my husband’s – still very weird to say! – job), passed my driving test, tried to ski and had an operation. I wouldn’t recommend squeezing in all of this in such a short time, but it’s been fun! (…mostly!)
I thought that leaving my job would give me more time to work on my websites, but it’s been surprising how much time just learning how to do everything all over again takes up, although now I’m a little more settled, hopefully I’ll get better at posting!
Bonjour, Blogger! will stay as a UK based website (because that’s still what I know best!) but you’ve probably noticed a few US influences creeping in (because now, as a US-based blogger with my personal site, I have to learn about the FTC guidelines, and think that they’re useful for UK bloggers to consider as well)
As ever, I’d love to hear what you’d like to see more of from the site, and if you’re in the Seattle area, let’s go for coffee!
