Don’t you love graphs like this?
The first graph is the traffic on this site after submitting a post to StumbleUpon, and the second graph shows the two days that we submitted posts. You can see such a huge increase in traffic compared to the average level of traffic the site gets, and it was so easy to do!
StumbleUpon is one of those sites that gets mentioned quite a bit when talking about where to get new readers, but it’s one of those things that you probably forget about. It’s been around since 2001, and works best when you use a browser add on to mark when you enjoy a post. The add on puts a little button in the corner of your browser window and allows you to give a page a thumbs up or thumbs down.
StumbleUpon says that you can add your own websites as long as they are personal, non-commercial web pages. Another thing to be aware of with this is that if you like too many pages from one domain, StumbleUpon might think you’re a spammer and disable your account, so make sure you’re liking up other posts you read – and it will also give those other bloggers a little traffic boost as well!
