Are you easily distracted at home? You’re not the only one! Sometimes, it feels much easier to get stuff done when you’re at your favourite cafe, but what do you do when it’s closed or you can’t afford to go?
Coffitivity is a website that plays the background sounds of a coffee shop. There are three different types of atmosphere that you can listen to, and you can still listen to your own music.
According to Coffitivity, there are studies that show that it’s difficult to be creative when it’s totally quiet, but loud sounds are just as disruptive (of course!) The balance of the background of a coffee shop is just about right to get your brain working (apparently!)
There are apps available for iOS and Android, as well as one for your Mac, but if you don’t have anything suitable for those to work on, or if you want to just check it out to see if it will work for you, then you can get the same sounds on coffitivity.com. Don’t blame us for any cake cravings though!
Ha! Wish this had been around when I was at uni, might have worked a little harder!
Alternatively, if you’re not into coffee shops but like weather there’s http://www.rainymood.com/ :)
