What Is Canva?

If you’re in need of a little helping hand in the graphics department, Canva might be just what you’re looking for.

Canva is an Australian start up which was born out of an online textbook editor. It’s aimed at people who want to make beautiful graphics but might not have the skills to do it themselves in Illustrator.

Canva is super simple to use. There are different templates to use – so if you’re looking to design a business card (perhaps to advertise your blog?) or a poster to advertise an event, there’s so many templates ready and waiting for you to use and be inspired by.

It’s all web based, and putting together an image is as easy as searching, dragging and dropping.

It’s easy to change any part of a template to personalise it, and you can import your own photos from your hard drive or Facebook. If you’re looking for stock images however, they have a huge collection – some are free to use, but others are $1 (which is pretty cheap compared to most stock image sites!)
