You ever get that feeling that you really love to blog, but you have no motivation to actually post anything? You take a few days off, and that turns into a few weeks, maybe even months, and then it’s just this huge thing to restart the blog after so long. It’s difficult to get back into the swing of things but here are a few ideas to hopefully help you out!
Revamp your layout
Like changing up your style, a new layout will help your blog feel new and refreshed. Even if you keep the main elements of the layout, just moving stuff around will help you feel reinspired!
What’s It About?
Maybe you started your blog as a beauty focused one, but it’s not so much of a major thing in your life anymore. Take a little time to consider what topics you want to cover – perhaps in the time that you’ve been away from your blog, you’ve found a new hobby or learnt a new skill. Maybe your personal circumstances have changed – it’s all good stuff to cover and will be interesting to new and regular readers.
Set Your Own Rules
Rules is such a strong word. What we mean by this is that you should decide what you want to do and stick to it – but if you miss your targets, don’t beat yourself up! When we relaunched in January, we decided to cut down from 5 posts a week to 3, which fitted in a lot better with other things going on, and it was easier to meet that target.
Raise The Bar
A lot is being said at the moment about how blogs are looking more polished than the outfit posts in dusty bedroom mirrors that we used to do. One of the reasons for this is that there are bloggers out there that wanted to try something new, something different, and it’s become adopted by others because it was popular. If you can think of a different way to do something, then why not try it out – it may be the next new blogging trend to catch on!
