One of the best ways to freshen up your blog to reinspire yourself is to install a new theme. But that can get expensive, so here are a few ways to make it feel like a new thing, and hopefully gives you a spark of inspiration!
The basic things you can do include cleaning up your navigation – if you don’t already have them in place, adding in some tags and categories to old posts will help readers find your posts on a specific topic, and going forwards will help people find your posts on things like Bloglovin’.
Checking your pages is important too – especially your about page and perhaps your PR/disclosure page. You don’t want to be saying you do something or offer advertising via Adproval when they have shut down!
Next, take a look at your sidebar. Do you really need all those blogger network badges? Consider if having them there is actually helping your site (some networks have code in the badge to be able to measure your traffic) or if it’s just visual clutter.
Checking for any dead links is useful too – there are lots of useful tools out there for this to make it a little easier for you. We’ve looked at Broken Link Check before, but there are lots of others out there.
Set a reminder in your calendar to check these things every month or so, and it wont seem like such a big deal!
