What is your blog about? It is a lifestyle blog showcasing my features, fashion, events, arts and anything I feel the need to blog about!
Is this your first blog? No, I used to have a blog to get started in journalism but felt it was so forced and I didn’t enjoy writing on it as much as I do with my new one. I was too shy to tell people about it because I felt it wasn’t good enough and too ‘serious’ and not me at all!
When did you start your current blog? January 2014 and it’s growing strength to strength! I’ve posted over 47 posts and that’s not including what’s sitting in my drafts…hehe.
What made you do it? I’m on a placement year out from university and aside working full time, wanted an outlet to showcase my writing and adventures I had been getting up to on my year out.
What was your first blog post about? It was about how did whims of a wordcrafter come to be? It was all about why I started it, my inspirations and what I had been doing until that time before starting the post. I even hinted at what was to come in my future blog posts.
What do you think is the most useful tool to you as a blogger? The most useful tool has to be Twitter, I love keeping up to date with all the fantastic opportunities and news and where else can you be up to date with anything aside 140 character word counts?!
Do people in your real life know about your blog? Yes, It has definitely helped with showcasing my writing talents when applying for internships and submitting features on a magazine/website.
What has been the one thing (blog post, project, etc) that you have been really proud of? I’ve been really proud at all the opportunities it has led me to, it backs up my strength in writing when applying to internships as well as all the press day events I’ve been writing for1
Where do you see your blog in a year? Hopefully it leads me to a full time job after I graduate and more fantastic writing opportunities!
What do you wish you knew when starting your blog? How hard it is to get people reading your posts!
What do you wish you know more about now? Getting more followers!
How do you keep motivated to post? Writing’s always going to be a passion of mine, I doubt I’m ever unmotivated. I’ve even been ill for four days now and in bed and I’m writing this ;)
