What is your blog about? I write about everything and anything… fashion, personal style, travel, beauty, art… you name it. I am interested in too many things to be able to limit my blog to just one aspect of my life. I like it to be a reflection of what is going on in my life or my head, what I’ve been experiencing, what I’ve been thinking about…
Is this your first blog? I started blogging back in 2002 on livejournal, although it was very, very different. It was somewhat easier to have a sense of community back in those days, mainly because of the platform, I think.
This was in the beginning of blogging times, well before anyone was thinking of making any money through blogging. Now the blogs have increased not only in quality but also in possibilities and that’s extremely exciting to witness. I believe there is still a lot that can be done and I’m very excited to be part of it!
When did you start your current blog? I started it back in 2010, did a few posts, left it and picked it up again a year later.
What made you do it? When I moved to England I was feeling a bit lonely and in need of a creative outlet, so I decided to start sharing my ideas with the world again. Plus I needed to find people who were interested in the same things I was… thrifting, a quirky sense of style, etc. It worked!
What was your first blog post about? A criticism of dogmatism by darwinians as well as more conservative people. Boring, I know.
What do you think is the most useful tool to you as a blogger? My camera! I prefer to share images rather than write a lot – I can express myself a lot better like this. Also English is not my first language and sometimes I make stupid grammar mistakes that I only realise days after it’s gone live.
Do people in your real life know about your blog? Yes. I discovered an interest in online marketing and social media and I’m now working in that area. I don’t keep it a secret at all, I tell everyone! the more readers the merrier! Plus I think it helps people get to know me a bit more.
What has been the one thing (blog post, project, etc) that you have been really proud of? Interviewing fantastic people either for the Meet and Greet or the Tattoo Files features. I love getting to know interesting, entrepreneurial people and helping them spread their ideas in the world.
Where do you see your blog in a year? Bigger better faster!
No really. I’d like to change my design and make it more streamlined and increase the quality of posts and photos.
What do you wish you knew when starting your blog? I wish I knew how to take better photos.
What do you wish you know more about now? Photography and grammar.
How do you keep motivated to post? Knowing I have something to say that matters. Or it should! haha
