What is your blog about? A bit of everything, anything that really gets me buzzing. Fashion features a lot, as well as music. I also tell a lot of anecdotes about my life as it is somewhat sitcom-ish at times, and coping with chronic illness…but in a non-depressing way!
Is this your first blog? No, I tried two before, one as a secret one and one on purely fashion. They never worked out as they were too constricting. Now I post as me I’m a lot more free in what I can write, which allows more scope and possibility.
When did you start your current blog? March 2014…though I didn’t really get serious about it until Feb 2015.
What made you do it? Writing is like therapy to me. I love sharing stories with other people, especially about my life as it’s so out there sometimes I feel I can help others with my crazy issues.
What was your first blog post about? I think about the title of the blog, as it’s a bit bizarre I felt I had to justify it. Plus I’m obsessed with green tea.
What do you think is the most useful tool to you as a blogger? Twitter. Socialise and network, it gets you noticed.
Do people in your real life know about your blog? If yes, has your blog helped you career wise? Yes in a way, as I’ve had links with companies through it, but I have to be so careful as I’m a teacher, so I can’t have every student finding out otherwise it would be slightly unprofessional what they would know about me.
What has been the one thing (blog post, project, etc) that you have been really proud of? I got to go to Top Model Worldwide’s finals as a teaching trip, but then was allowed to blog about the event which went down really well. The chief director of Top Model was impressed with my blog and contacted me to thank me, which was great recognition. I also had a blog post published on Company magazine’s website.
Where do you see your blog in a year? Ummm, bigger and better? I’d love to be able to get enough funding to be able to do this and have my own domain name and attend more functions to blog about, without the worry of budget constraints!
What do you wish you knew when starting your blog? Don’t limit yourself and put yourself out there. Hard work is rewarded, but it takes time.
What do you wish you know more about now? How to network with companies? Or make a bit more money from blogging so I can expand more.
How do you keep motivated to post? I get depressed if I go to long without writing, so it’s my me time. But I also don’t beat myself up if I don’t get a chance to write on certain days.
