What is your blog about?
My blog is centered around photography, natural hair, fashion, and motivation. My goal is to inspire those around me to create, to love, to strive for success, and to always believe in themselves.

Is this your first blog?
This is my second blog. I used to run a fan fiction blog back in high school but that is absolutely nothing in comparison to what I do now.

When did you start your current blog?
I started this blog in 2013.

What made you do it?
Photography. I started taking it more seriously and that concept excited me. Soon after, I shaved my head and I wanted to document the way it made me feel, the transformation, the emotion behind it.

What was your first blog post about?
The first blog was about my first official concert shoot where I actually met one of my favorite celebrities who later became a close friend.

What do you think is the most useful tool to you as a blogger?
As a blogger, the greatest tool is a pen and a piece of paper. I know there are so many programs and apps but nothing beats the amazing feeling when you’re sitting in a park or a coffee shop and ideas just come to you.

Do people in your real life know about your blog?
Yes

If yes, has your blog helped you career wise?
My blog is the main place for showcasing photos. It seals the deal for my clientele being able to see physical examples of what I do as well as how my personality shines through my work.

What has been the one thing (blog post, project, etc) that you have been really proud of?
The Chop Chronicles, my natural hair blog on the site is probably my proudest accomplishment. Being someone who was extremely non-committal, a monthly blog about hair and the journey from the perspective of start to finish was scary. A year later, here I am.

Where do you see your blog in a year?
In a year, that blog is going to change someone’s life. I don’t know how yet, but I know it’s going to because that’s the main purpose in life.

What do you wish you knew when starting your blog?
I wish I had understood that having a cute blog isn’t what is the most important. It’s about marketing, it’s about content, it’s about connection… The visual side of it isn’t the most important thing at all.

What do you wish you know more about now?
Now, it’s always about marketing. I always want to know more. Being a newly renowned business major, I’m developing soaking up all the knowledge I can about marketing.

How do you keep motivated to post?
Motivation? It’s knowing I’m committing to doing something I love which is writing!
