What is your blog about?
My blog is a mixture of beauty, fashion and lifestyle posts. I love cosmetics, beauty products, cute homeware and fashion so I blog about the things I love!
Is this your first blog?
This is my first blog, although I am thinking about creating a vegetarian recipe/advice blog.
When did you start your current blog?
I created my blog back in May 2012, so I have been around for a while but there is always something else to learn.
What made you do it?
I didn’t think about it for that long, I wanted to share what I had bought and what I thought of it. Also I loved blogs and YouTube channels and I wanted to be part of that growing community. I am so glad I started blogging!
What was your first blog post about?
My first blog post was a very short ‘about me’ style post, it was the only post I thought to do first and it is a bit cringing looking back at my old posts but it is a great way of keeping track of what I have been doing and also what products I have been loving or hating!
What do you think is the most useful tool to you as a blogger?
In terms of connecting with brands, other bloggers and followers, it would have to be Twitter. It is a fantastic way of informally connecting with brands, seeing what other bloggers are up to and keeping my followers updated about me and my blog.
Do people in your real life know about your blog? If yes, has your blog helped you career wise?
My family and friends do now know about my blog but I did keep it a secret for just over one year! I was nervous about what people would think of my blog but my friends are quite interested in blogging now. I have started my sister and one of my best friends on to blogging! Also I think it is an interesting point to have on my CV as well, especially as I am currently job hunting.
What has been the one thing (blog post, project, etc) that you have been really proud of?
I am proud of how far my little blog has come, I didn’t have that many followers or readers for a long time but then it started growing. I never thought I would have over 1000 followers, it’s crazy!
Where do you see your blog in a year?
I hope to have more readers and followers, that always makes my day. I also hope that I can provide better photograph quality and content to my followers over the next year.
What do you wish you knew when starting your blog?
I wish I knew that commenting on other peoples blogs was a great way of getting more followers and readers! I didn’t do this for ages but the more interaction you have with other bloggers and readers the more you put your blog out there.
What do you wish you know more about now?
I wish I knew more about the technical side of photography, I would love to take far better photographs. Also I would love to learn how to work with HTML coding.
How do you keep motivated to post?
The thought of a post going live and getting feedback keeps me motivated. Also other bloggers and reading their wonderful posts makes me try to up my game and create better and more interesting posts.
