Name Elizabeth
Age 18
Location United Kingdom
Blog URL Elizabeth and Her
What is your blog about?
A total mix of fashion, beauty, lifestyle and travel – as well as a few rants here and there, whatever I really feel like posting!
Is this your first blog?
Yep! It is relatively new – I’ve only been active for a couple of months, around four (as of February).
When did you start your current blog?
October 2015! But I had to take a two month break because of my final school graduation exams – but now I am back in action and on a current schedule! I’m really, really enjoying it so far, I cannot wait to see it blossom into something amazing.
What made you do it?
It has always been a real passion of mine, I had always wanted a blog since I was around fourteen or fifteen. But, I was always too shy/too nervous to put myself out there when I was that age (I use to suffer pretty bad anxiety), but then one day I just decided “why not! I’ve been wanting to do this for around four years – what’s stopping me?!” – one of the best decisions I have made!
What was your first blog post about?
October Favourites – all the favourite things I had been loving in that month (beauty, fashion, lifestyle etc etc)
What do you think is the most useful tool to you as a blogger?
Passion and Drive. I think if you are passionate about what you do, then everything will fall in place, you have to love what you do, otherwise what is the point in doing it? That’s my view on life, anyway.
Do people in your real life know about your blog? If yes, has your blog helped you career wise? If no, why? Do you purposefully keep it a secret?
Not exactly career-wise, but I was offered a place at a top UK university because of my content! It has allowed me to showcase my writing in a ‘non formal’ way (and I mean, not like me writing an essay during school).
What has been the one thing (blog post, project, etc) that you have been really proud of?
Either my photography, or my post on “”Realistic: The Future of Social Media”” – I have been pretty proud of the quality of the photos. I mean, I’ve always enjoyed photography, but I am really getting into it!
“”Realistic: The Future of Social Media”” was an article that I was really proud, I felt it was a real mature piece of work.
Where do you see your blog in a year?
Hopefully continuing the way it is, maybe with a bit more in fashion and some recipes! I also want to start a travel series, hopefully publish a book and start a youtube channel so I can link up videos to ‘Elizabeth and Her’!
What do you wish you knew when starting your blog?
I wish I had started earlier, but then I know the content that I would have posted would not have been up to the maturity level that it is now – purely because of my age! But I always try and not be so hard on myself, I’m a natural perfectionist, so I love everything to be perfect laughs
What do you wish you know more about now?
More about the ‘behind the scenes’ of blogging – like I literally just joined twitter, about half an hour ago – I think I need to figure out how to use that laughs! I am also really interested in what makes other bloggers….blog. I love hearing about what people are passionate about!
How do you keep motivated to post?
My love for blogging – I think, individually, you have to be passionate about what you write about. I find thinking of the idea quite challenging, because I like to give people a variety of things, but I love English, I love photography and ultimately, I love blogging! That’s the most important thing.
