What is your blog about? I get asked this a lot and I guess the easiest answer is lifestyle. I talk about my own life (food, beauty, fashion, travel) as well as sharing blog tips and advice for others! That’s what a lifestyle blog is right?
Is this your first blog? Yes! First and probably only, one blog is enough to handle haha!
When did you start your current blog? I started it in August 2012. It sounds like a ridiculously long time ago but there are days when it seems like that first post was just yesterday.
What made you do it? I was living in Sheffield over summer flitting between family and my then boyfriend’s house but in-between that I wasn’t really doing much. My blog started as a hobby but it’s become so much more than that.
What was your first blog post about? An introduction to me! Summer was coming to an end and I thought what better way to start than rounding up all the interesting things I’d done over the past few months.
What do you think is the most useful tool to you as a blogger? Hmm, I think I would have to say social media. It really is the best way to get your blog out there. You can’t point to one specific channel and focus all your energy on that because ultimately it’s about the division of time between several networks.
Do people in your real life know about your blog? Oh absolutely. It’s the number one thing I get asked about in job interviews and I have so much to say that it makes the whole process a lot less nerve wracking.
What has been the one thing (blog post, project, etc) that you have been really proud of? Just one? Hmm okay, last September I was mentioned as ‘Hot Right Now’ by Closer magazine that really was huge for me. I still get excited just thinking about it!
Where do you see your blog in a year? I’m currently working on making a few changes to my blog design and structure so by next year I’d like to think I’ll have finished that and be left with something I can be really proud of. I’m also going to be incorporating more travel posts so will be interesting to see how that goes.
What do you wish you knew when starting your blog? I wish I’d thought about starting one sooner!
What do you wish you know more about now? All the technical terms, as I mentioned I am working my way through some tutorials but there are some things that just tend to go over my head. I’d love to be able to understand it ALL.
How do you keep motivated to post? I have to be honest, uni and life do get in the way but I look at what I’ve achieved and read comments or messages from people who’ve found a post particularly interesting or helpful and that always makes it worthwhile.
Anything else you’d like to add? Blogging is very much about the community so if you’ve enjoyed reading this please check out my blog and feel free to connect with me over on Twitter. I don’t bite… much!!
