What is your blog about?
theconbonz is a lifestyle blog where I enjoy sharing the positive and happy moments in my life as well as music and dramas I think my readers will definitely enjoy.
Is this your first blog?
Yes and no. I’ve actually attempted 2 blogs prior to theconbonz, but because I lacked the courage and determination then, I ended up deleting them. However now, I’ve changed. And I can guarantee that theconbonz will last for years on end!
When did you start your current blog?
This past summer (June 2014) I decided it was the perfect time to launch theconbonz.
What made you do it?
I had a dance friend who also launched her own blog and that was when I realized how amazing it can be as blogger. You can say I was instantly inspired to create my own blog.
What was your first blog post about?
My first blog post, like many others, was a simple introductory one. One that announced the birth of theconbonz as well as the arrival of summer. But if I were to disregard that one, I would say my first blog post was about my trip to Taiwan with my family. An awesome travel picture diary. Ahhh… memories…
What do you think is the most useful tool to you as a blogger?
I think the most useful tools would have to be Bloglovin’ and Twitter. As a novice, I find it extremely important to get around and see what’s really out there in the blogging world. I knew I had to read other blogs and interact with other bloggers to get better, and those two platforms allowed be to do just that.
Do people in your real life know about your blog? If yes, has your blog helped you career wise?
Since I’m still a student, I’d say blogging has really helped me with my school career in that my writing has definitely improved quite a lot.
What has been the one thing (blog post, project, etc) that you have been really proud of?
I’d have to say my blog design. I’m no blog designer, and I barely know anything regarding HTML coding and what not. But with some Photoshop skills and Illustrator skills, I managed to pull together a design I was pleased with. Honestly, it took me for-ev-er but in the end it was all worth it.
Where do you see your blog in a year?
In a years time, I hope to be able to reach a small little group of loyal readers that have similar interests so I can happily interact with those lovely people through the comments, twitter, facebook, etc.
What do you wish you knew when starting your blog?
I really wish I knew how important it was to get myself and my name out there. People won’t just come to you if you just sit there. You need to introduce yourself first… in short, be proactive.
What do you wish you know more about now?
I really want to know how other blogger conjure up new topics for their blog posts. Although I’ve managed to consistently write up posts, it’s very interesting to me to learn other bloggers’ blog-posting-process.
How do you keep motivated to post?
I guess the only motivation is the “want” and the “passion.” If there were no wanting to succeed and no passion for blogging, then simply don’t blog. By keeping those two items in mind, I remind myself to post about things I’m passionate about and things that make me want to share with others. This way, I’m always up and motivated.
Anything else you’d like to add?
I’ve always been a shy, reserved girl that really wants to open up but can’t really find the courage to do so. Through blogging, I hope to grow as a person and show others this beautiful journey. It’s always good to look back and think, “Ah, I was like this back then. It’s amazing how much I’ve changed and matured. Let’s pass this experience and happiness to others… Let’s motivate them and inspire them.”
