What is your blog about?
I blog about parenting and lifestyle so it is a mix of things but I write about the things I love. Jay is my much wanted baby and I find writing helps me deal with motherhood. I am learning so much through reading other blogs and I hope one day Jay will be able to read about what we got up to in the early years!
Is this your first blog?
This is my first blog and I only wish I had started it sooner!
When did you start your current blog?
I started writing my blog in July 2014
What made you do it?
The idea was basically to have a virtual diary of parenting as I became a mother for the first time and I also enjoy writing so it’s a place I can share my thoughts and possibly help others with reviews of products as well as write about the things I love. I also enjoyed reading blogs before I became pregnant and so this also prompted me to start my very own!
What was your first blog post about?
My first blog post was called Happiness and I write about the things that make me happy!
What do you think is the most useful tool to you as a blogger?
Dropbox is the ultimate tool for syncing files between the computer and mobile devices. There is a Dropbox app for just about every device and system and there even more integrations with other apps. So not only are your files always secure, but they’re always with you wherever you go. If you need to save files for use later, just add them to Dropbox or sync them using a supported app.
Do people in your real life know about your blog? If yes, has your blog helped you career wise?
I haven’t actually told many of my friends about my blog! My husband only found out about it 2 months in as I was initially unsure how it would pan out and whether I would be able to blog consistently.
What has been the one thing (blog post, project, etc) that you have been really proud of?
I was invited to a blog event 3 months into starting my blog and met with other bloggers which really inspired me to write and
Where do you see your blog in a year?
I would love to work with more brands and dare I say it become a Pro Blogger. Being on maternity leave has also made me look at where I am heading with my career and I have always felt it’s important to work doing something you really enjoy. Being a mum is the toughest and the best job I’ve ever had.
What do you wish you knew when starting your blog?
Consistency is the key to growth. Blogging isn’t as easy as it can look a lot of work can go into designing the blog appearance to catch attention. The content you can create now will continue to work for you over time.
What do you wish you know more about now?
I would like to develop my knowledge on WordPress and really get to grips with the widgets!
How do you keep motivated to post?
I love writing so I am always thinking about what to write about next. I think when you enjoy blogging you make the time for it. My son is also one of the reasons I feel so motivated to post about. May be one day we will read my posts together.
Anything else you’d like to add?
I would encourage anyone who is thinking about starting a blog to give it a go! The blogging community is HUGE and no matter where you are in life write about something you love and write from the heart.
