We’re pretty nosy around here – it’s the best part about blogging, finding out about other people! Today, we’re wondering how you came up with your blog name. We asked a few people on Twitter, and here are their replies!
Mine’s my nickname “Griff” with blog stuck on the end (Griff blog). I thought I’d keep it simple haha!
Mine is a take on ‘Fashionista’!
Amy Rebair @AmyRebair | thegirlinthebowlerhat.com
I constantly had a bowler hat stuck to my head (quite like Mr Woodworm from Matilda) and named it after that, haha! : ) xx

My Midlife Fashion as I’m hitting the big four-0 later this year!
A nickname :)
Mine was because I am the world’s clumsiest person & however nice my clothes are I’m guaranteed to spill something on them!
I wanted a tongue-in-cheek and hopefully memorable name WITHOUT the words fashion & style. Don’t hate it 5 years on – phew!
I was sick of being made to feel guilty over my penchant for being a bit spendy ☺
Mines a Snow Patrol song. I promised my 15 year old self that if I ever bought a domain, it’d be called Grazed Knees.
Rogues & brogues are 2 of my favourite things.
I like ducks & I like dresses! Husband also calls me duck because apparently I’m nosy (sticking my beak into things) :-)
It was Originally Falling Forward – Moving With Ease. Wanted it to feel like growth/movement
So, if you haven’t already shared it – how did you decide on your blog name? Would you still choose that name if you were starting a blog now? What do you think makes a good blog name? (See, we told you we were nosy!)
i called mine RYOKOGURL , because my japanese name is ryoko
femgeek = female geek, but it was originally bought to be used as a forum/group blog as most of my blogging friends were female but I didn’t have the time to maintain it so now its just a lifestyle-ish blog I use as a technical playground.
I do kind of regret it cos I don’t want people to assume I’m one of those feminist ‘women are mis/under represented in technology’ people. cos I’m not, and I’m going to stop there cos thats a whole other issue!
Tie-dye-eyes because I have heterochromia iridum (think I’ve spelled that right?) which means I have one blue eye and one half blue/half green eye, which is pretty unique if you ask me :)
Ok well there’s my tech blog Dawbu.info – is the 1st two letters of my 1st name my middle initial & the 1st two letters if my surname. I’ve also got my fashion blog Wearsittoo.com which is a play on the Bristolian phrase Where’s it to? Which for those of you whom are not from my fair city means – Where is it?
I wanted a name that described my life and I absolutely love the Compare the Meerkat adverts so when Not So Simples entered my head whilst I was sat on the toilet(lovely I know) I decided to use that
I initially started out as a bread making blog.
It’s a punny play on Need wine and I love it. Many thanks to @essbeevee who came up with it with me.
I chose mine (Rain & Red Lips) as those are two of my favorite things and it certainly doesn’t hurt when there’s a touch of alliteration! I’ve only had my blog a few months, so far, so good but we’ll see how I feel in a year or so, but I think I’ll still love it! I’m a fan of blog names that are personal to the writer. When people use nicknames or anything like that, I love it :)
Honestly, when I started my blog I was just trying to keep my recipes together online so didn’t really think about a name. I just wanted something that was free! She Cooks, She Eats was the first thing I thought of that was open.
