Social media is a wonderful thing, bringing so many of us together to talk about topics we love, but lately, there’s an undercurrent of nastiness and negativity that just isn’t wanted by anyone. Being hidden behind a screen seems to allow some people to think that they can say whatever they want to, things they would never dare to say to someone’s face.
It’s also really easy for someone to say something, and then another person to take it a totally different way than was meant and it’s even more complicated when you know that person. So what do you do in that situation? It’s always best to talk to the person to see what’s going on – if they’re someone you see in real life, call them up and go for a brew to try to clear the air. Getting together face to face means you’ll be able to sort things out much quicker and easier than trying to discuss it over Facebook messenger.
