Welcome to Bonjour, Blogger! – the UK’s leading independent blogger guide.
Established in May 2013, Bonjour, Blogger! was set up from a need of more UK specific advice regarding blogging and all topics relating to it like monetisation and regulation. It aims to help inform and educate bloggers in ways to develop and improve their website in a clear and easy to understand style.
Well Hello there!
I’m Hayley and I’ve been blogging since 2000 – back when we didn’t even call it a blog! I started my first blog to talk about what I got up to at school that day, and taught myself how to create my own website.I’ve been helping out friends for years to improve their own sites, so in 2012, I thought I would put my knowledge somewhere so others could find it easily, and my e-book was born!
While writing the e-book, I realised that a lot of the information in there had the possiblity of being outdated quickly, and that a website would be a good place to write about the newest changes and updates on our favourite platforms, and thus Bonjour, Blogger! was born.
One of the things Bonjour, Blogger! likes to promote is the idea of community over competition – we can all grow better if we work together to help each other up. Some of the ways that we encourage helping each other out are by helping others in our Facebook group for bloggers and influencers and with our blogger opportunities page. If you see anything on there that isn’t suitable for you but your friend would be good at, send it over to them! If you read a post on here that’s really useful, we’d love it if you shared it with your audience.
Here’s what one of my early blog layouts looked like…thankfully things have improved since then!
(My very first blog in 2000 was a pink background with red text and was super image heavy. Unfortunately (or perhaps fortunately!), archive.org hasn’t saved the images so it doesn’t look like much now)
We’re here for you to network with other bloggers, learn new tips and tricks and develop your own site. We don’t just share new knowledge but relevant news and reviews so you can keep up to date with the hottest trends and technology without getting bogged down in jargon.
We’re always looking for people who love blogging and social media and have something to share with the community. If you have any comments or suggestions on what you’d like to see more of, please do get in touch!!
