What is your blog about? You know those fashion blogs where girls take pictures of their pristine outfits and you sit at your computer, in your Old Navy sweatpants, and get really jealous while you read them? I’m not one of those bloggers. I blog about fashion with an ounce of sarcasm and a heavy hand of funny. I’m honest, but endearing about something we all have to tackle every day – what the heck to wear.
Is this your first blog? Remember Xanga?! I had a few of those back in the day, which have thankfully since been deleted and can no longer make me cringe. This is my first “big girl” blog.
When did you start your current blog? In the daytime, I work with bloggers daily for a major beauty brand. After realizing, “Wait, I can do this too!,” I started my blog in early 2013.
What made you do it? Street style blogs reaaaaaaaaaaalllly bore me. How many times do I have to look at a girl’s outfit and be sad because I can’t afford it? I wanted a real blog, by a real girl, who could also make me laugh too.
What was your first blog post about? The horribly tacky polyester top I fell in love with in fourth grade.
What do you think is the most useful tool to you as a blogger? Social media. I’d have far less readers if I wasn’t constantly getting my work out there via Facebook and Twitter.
Do people in your “real life” know about your blog? If yes, has your blog helped you career wise? My real life friends and family know about my blog, but it has been a bit awkward to know my dad has read about my sex life (gross). Since I already work with bloggers of my same topic, it always gives me a bit of street cred when I meet another blogger who has read my work.
What has been the one thing (blog post, project, etc) you’ve been really proud of?
I helped kick off Beaucoo’s Stories Project, which was a fun experience.
Where do you see your blog in a year? As sarcastic and eye-rolling as ever.
What do you wish you knew when starting your blog? Get a GOOD web designer right away, or you’ll be hurting later down the line.
What do you wish you know about now? How do I get more sponsorships? Bueller? Bueller?
How do you keep motivated to post? I use Evernote to keep a list of things I should blog about. That way, when inspiration strikes, I won’t forget what keeps me going.
Anything else you’d like to add? Sorry if I offended any street style bloggers. Your purses are great.
I really get nothing from fashion blogs, generally, so I clicked over to Thea’s blog with a healthy dose of scepticism, but I’m pleased to say that I read about 15 posts because she was so funny! :)
Definitely adding her blog to my feed reader, whoo hoo!
Sarah, I’m so glad you liked it!! My blog is undergoing a redesign this month, so if it doesn’t read into your blog reader, it should soon! So happy you loved it. <3
